We surveyed the fourth graders at our school and found that at some point 67% had gotten bad milk, mostly at school.

What does it do, you ask? Mooph detects milk if it’s bad. Isn’t there a printed expiration date, you say? Yes, but milk can go bad long before or long after that date depending on storage conditions. Currently, there are no widely used, easy ways to test milk other than your nose or your tongue. Anyone who’s ever smelled or tasted sour milk certainly recalls the experience. With nearly 18 million gallons of milk sold every year, millions of dollars worth get poured down drains or thrown away because consumers can't test for freshness.

Sometimes you can tell if milk is bad by the smell or color. But not always. Some people don’t know what to look for, or are young kids like the ones at our school. Since dangerous bacteria can be lurking inside spoiled milk, people can get serious health problems from drinking rotten milk by accident.

MoopH is a simple, affordable solution that is compatible with existing cartons. Using MoopH is fun and easy and will benefit millions around the world by showing them if their milk is good. MoopH is designed to test the pH of the milk in the carton before you drink it. If it changes color you know the milk has gone bad.
